If you haven’t yet heard about voice automation technologies like Amazon Alexa or Google home, you will soon!
These devices act as an assistant in your home and they can make your life better.
They can do things like play music, turn lights on and off, raise and lower shades, and more.
Setting the Scene
Devices like these are useful in setting a “scene”.
These “scenes” can change the whole home with a simple voice command.
For example, you might say something like “Alexa, it’s movie time!”
This could start a whole series of automated tasks. These might include turning on the projector, lowering the projector screen, and decreasing the temperature. A second later it might dim the lights and start your favorite movie playing!
You might also simply say “Alexa turn off my family room lights” or “Alexa, lower my family room temperature.”
Other things Alexa might help you to do could include things like turning off the sprinklers or turning on outdoor lights.
A Whole New World of Voice Automation
It’s a really amazing world of technology that we live in when you can simply talk to a device, and have it give you exactly what you are looking for!
(It’s like something out of Star Trek, except that we get to experience it every day.)
